KUALA LUMPUR, March 7 – The latest discovery of an object at Reunion Island today could only be confirmed after the Malaysian team of experts and MH370 investigation team verify the found object, said Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Aziz Kaprawi. The Malaysian team comprised experts from the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) and Malaysia Airlines. He said any debris found in that area is tentatively, possibly, would be from MH370 until it is verified later on.

He told this to the reporters at the Dewan Rakyat lobby, here today. A news agency today reported on a finding of a second possible piece from the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 on the French Indian Ocean island of La Reunion last Thursday. The piece was found by Johnny Begue, while he was out jogging by the sea shore, the same person who found the ‘flaperon,’ a wing fragment from the missing plane in July last year.

Last week, the media has also reported on the discovery of an object believed to be part of the missing aircraft at a sandbank in the Mozambique nearby Reunion Island. A DCA team is scheduled to meet with their Mozambican counterparts in the southern African country today to discuss on the discovery and bring back the debris.

The Beijing-bound flight MH370 with 239 passengers and crew on board went missing on the early morning of March 8, 2014, after departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport. An interim statement on MH370 will be released by the Malaysian investigators tomorrow while the Dewan Rakyat Speaker will deliver a speech to commemorate the second anniversary of the tragedy.
