BEIJING, March 8 – “Don’t ever give up on MH370” – that was the appeal by more than 50 Chinese relatives of passengers in the missing Malaysia Airlines flight. The families gathered at the Lama Temple today to share their grief and to mark the second anniversary of the disappearance of the aircraft. The plane disappeared on March 8, 2014, with 239 people onboard, including 153 Chinese citizens, en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

Zhang Yongli, 65, the father of one of the passengers in the ill-fated flight said they want the authorities to continue the search and investigation. He hope that the authorities don’t ever give up on MH370. Another family member, who wants to be known as Bao (she), 58, hoped the Malaysian government could meet the families of the victims and give them updates on the missing flight. She wiping her teary eyes said they just want the truth.

Bao said although today marked the second anniversary of the incident, she had not stopped hoping for the return of her son, daughter-in-law and grandson, who were on the flight. Yesterday, 12 Chinese families with relatives onboard the aircraft filed a lawsuit in a Beijing court, a day before the deadline for them to pursue litigation against Malaysia Airlines over the incident.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian government today announced that an interim report on the investigation into the disappearance of MH370 would be released at 3pm today by the Malaysian International Civil Aviation Organisation Annex 13 Safety Investigation Team for MH370. The statement will be uploaded to the official MH370 website www.mh370.gov.my, where it will first be made available to the next-of-kin only, and subsequently made public at 3pm (Malaysian time).

The latest discovery was another debris found at the sandbank in Mozambique, nearby the French Indian Ocean island of La Reunion Island. The piece was found by Johnny Begue, while he was out jogging by the sea shore, the same person who found the flaperon, a wing fragment from the missing plane in July last year.
