ALOR STAR, April 6- The ashes of businessman Datuk Tan Huat Seang, who died in the helicopter crash at Semenyih, Kajang, on Saturday will be buried at the Prestavest Memorial Park (PMP) in Kebun 500, Pokok Sena, on Wednesday. Special prayers would be held prior to the ceremony at 11am, said a PMP spokesman. The ashes of Tan, who was SP Baiduri Sdn Bhd chief executive officer, were brought to his residence in Taman Golf here about 9.16pm last night.
This morning, the Sultan of Kedah’s private secretary Datuk Syed Unan Mashri Syed Abdullah and Kedah state Exco for Housing and Local Government Datuk Badrol Hisham Hashim arrived at Tan’s residence to pay their last respects. Tan’s son Tan Hon Yew, 27, today urged the media to stay away from their residence after today’s proceedings to allow family members and relatives to pay their last respects without any interference.
“We seek the kind cooperation of the media to respect our request for privacy after today’s proceedings … because it will make it easier for our family members, relatives and friends to pay their last respects,” he said. Tan was in the helicopter which crashed with five others on board, namely Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis, the Prime Minister’s chief private secretary Datuk Azlin Alias, pilot Captain Cliff Fournier, operations assistant Aidiana Baizeiva and Jamaluddin’s bodyguard Mohd Raskan Seran, 32, at Jalan Sungai Lalang, Kampung Pasir Baru, Semenyih, at 4.55pm on Saturday.
