KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9 – The Royal Malaysian Police (RMP) ruled Attorney-General Chambers’ Appellate and Trial Division deputy chief Anthony Kevin Morais who was reported missing since last Friday, was kidnapped. Deputy Inspector General of Police Datuk Noor Rashid Ibrahim said this was because of his family and closest friends of Morais did not receive any calls or demands for ransom from any party.
“His case is still classified as missing person and I urge the parties concerned against speculating on the case, as this can affect police’s investigations. In addition, the police will investigate it from every angle and treat this case seriously until Morais found,” he told reporters after the Excellent Service Award 2014 in Bukit Aman here on Tuesday.
Noor Rashid said police would also intensify its efforts to analyze Morais’ travel routes and places he often visited to help in the investigation. Yesterday, the police formed a special task force to investigate the disappearance of Morais which led by Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad. Morais was reported last seen was leaving his apartment in Menara Duta, Kuala Lumpur on Friday to his office in Putrajaya. He also reported a Proton Perdana gray color with registration number WA6264Q.
