GEORGE TOWN, Sept 12 – Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng hold a press conference at Komtar here on Friday said they will continue defence Tony Pua as a member of Public Accounts Committee (PAC). He asked why Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan called for Pua’s dismissal as reported by the NST when there is no proof.
Moreover, according to Lim, former PAC chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed had said that it is baseless to accuse PAC of leaking information about 1MDB to Wall Street Journal. CM Lim Guan Eng said he hope that they can show out proof with not just make unfounded allegations.
“Besides that, they must be given a responsible against what happens with the 1.4 biilion US Dollar and also the 1MDB scandal of RM2.6B was been as reported by WSJ. What happened about the money of 1.4 billion US dollars had been received by companies and paid to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB),” he said.
“The report was published by the Wall Street Journal which is the one of the leading business newspaper in World. We just want them to respond what happened to the 1.4 billion US Dollar. In the same time, why didn’t the Prime Minister sue WSJ? Don’t try to divert attention from the report by making false allegations against Tony due to it is unethical, immoral and unparliamentary to call for the sacking of Tony without any proof. This is based on bad faith,” he added.
