KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 14 – Police have denied the validity of the news and pictures of a group of red-shirted punks were gathered and roamed in Jalan Chow Kit, Pavilion and Bukit Bintang as a spread on social media. Kuala Lumpur police chief, Datuk Tajuddin Md Isa said the deployment image is not true at all, and no group is roamed in the city.

“There were no road closures around Kuala Lumpur especially the streets leading to the Plaza Low Yat. The public is advised to obtain verification from any nearest police station, and did not believe in or affected by the dissemination of the images and stories that are unfounded,” Tajuddin said in a statement here on Monday.

Tajuddin said that stern action will be taken under Section 4 (1) of the Sedition Act for any individual suspected of spreading seditious information and intimidate the public. He said the ministry will continue to ensure public safety and public order around Kuala Lumpur will continue to be guaranteed. He added that for any information received must be certified and obtained from sources that right or authority.
