KUANTAN, Oct 6 – The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has been urged by State Women and Family Development, Communications and Multimedia Committee chairman Datuk Shahaniza Shamsuddin to find the best initiative for them to enter areas affected by floods to monitor communication line coverage.

She said last year many flood-hit areas with couldn’t reached by telephone and MCMC could not monitor the matter as they claimed that they did not have the equipment to enter flooded areas. She said that this is because all rescue agency boats were fully deployed to evacuate residents from inundated places.
