GEORGE TOWN, Nov 16 – Penang legislative assembly here today had led an arguing about the state allocations to religious schools and allegations of political meddling on the matter and also the RM2.6 billion “donation” who received by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

R.S.N. Rayer (DAP-Seri Delima) said the fund that received by Najib in his personal accounts was a large sum of which was transferred shortly before the 2013 general election. He said that the multi-billion “donation” that had been spent could have resolved many issues, including those related to education and funds for schools.

The Penang government was recently criticised and accused of practising preferential treatment when giving out funds to religious schools, although it has since explained that funds or religious schools were not fixed and allocations this year were channelled to schools that were in bad condition.

In the meantime, Deputy Chief Minister II Ramasamy also argue about the RM2.6 billion “donation” was a relevant matter to the state legislative assembly and also the country and people were facing many issues such as poverty and education, and could benefit from the huge sum of the money.

“The question about the donation does not only from Rayer but also from other people as well. If 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) is not bought up, this issue was serious enough with the money. If the state government have that kind of money, I sure that our Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng can solve many issues and also the problem in the state,” said Ramasamy.
