SHAH ALAM, Nov 16 – Several areas in Shah Alam have been hit by flash floods following two hours of heavy rain since 1pm, causing many vehicles to be trapped on the main roads. Among the flooded areas include Section 13, Section 9, Section U8 and Batu 3, where roads have become impassable to light vehicles. Flash floods in Batu 3 also caused a temporary disruption to the Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad’s (KTMB) Komuter service as the Batu 3 station rail line is submerged.

A KTMB spokesperson when contacted confirmed that the station was flooded and the Komuter train was unable to pass the area temporarily.  However, it is understood that service has resumed. Meanwhile a PLUS Malaysia spokesperson said the slip road from Bukit Raja heading towards Shah Alam is impassable to traffic due to flash floods.

“Commuters planning to exit the Shah Alam toll on the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) and Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE) are advised to head to the nearby Subang toll plaza or to take the Elite Highway (North–South Expressway Central Link) and exit at Ebor toll plaza because the Shah Alam toll area is flooded. Flash flood at KM 0 heading to NKVE Shah Alam toll. Route from Bukit Jelutong to Shah Alam is temporarily closed,” Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM) said in a tweet at 4pm.
