KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 – Inspector- General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) will send a team to Thailand to interrogate Xavier Andre Justo on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB). He said Thai police are now willing to welcome the officers to interrogate Justo.
He told this to reporters after a passing-out parade of cadet inspectors at the Kuala Lumpur Police Training Centre here on Saturday. Justo was sentenced to three years’ jail by a Bangkok Criminal Court on Aug 17 for blackmailing his former employer, PetroSaudi of 2.5 million Swiss Franc (RM11 million), using stolen documents.
The 49-year-old Swiss became the focus of attention in Malaysia, following cooperation between Petrosaudi and 1MDB. On the meeting between PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar and Jacel Kiram, a daughter of a Sulu terrorist leader, the IGP said the police would also summon Batu Member of Parliament Tian Chua to help in the probe.
“In the meantime, the police had also been recorded a statement from Nurul Izzah at the federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman here on Friday and will also summon Tian Chua soon. We will continue to probe the matter for attempted to sabotage,” he said.
