KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 4 – Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid launched Malaysia’s first online interactive textbook. Syarikat Learning Port which produced the book said it was specifically for students sitting for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) examinations.
“However, our ministry was also conducting a study to ensure its contents were in line with the curriculum of the national education system. Only after that will we make an evaluation. The study would be done in stages because the product depended on comprehensive broadband coverage. We have to consider Internet coverage in rural areas. Only if the Internet coverage is good can we use this product,” Mahdzir told reporters after the launch.
