KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 9 – Dewan Negara President Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang today chided senators, who are not involved in the UMNO Gemeral Assembly (PAU) 2015, for not attending Dewan Negara sittings. He said he did give permission for several ministers, who are involved in PAU, to excuse themselves from attending the sitting, but for those not involved, they must be present because this sitting is more important.
He said this as soon as the Dewan Negara reconvened Wednesday morning. PAU 2015 being held at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) commenced yesterday until this Saturday. Abu Zahar said there were some senators who made the PAU 2015 as an excuse for not attending Dewan Negara and their action was regrettable. He also advised all members of the Dewan Negara to be present to debate on the Supply Bill 2016 currently being debated. The Dewan Negara sitting starts on Monday until December 22.
