GEORGE TOWN, Dec 18 – About 15,000 participants, including 300 people with disabilities (OKU), are expected to join the Penang City Walk 2016, in conjunction with City Day 2016, on Jan 1 at the Esplanade Field, here. Penang Adventurer’s Club (PAC) President Wong Pang Kong said the age of the participants ranged from two years to as old as 86.
Meanwhile, the journey for the walk will be five kilometer (km) and comprise six checkpoints located around the Penang heritage sites with models and performers from respective culture and tradition such as the Chinese opera and Mime Artist Sir Francis Light.
Wong said he do not encourage participants to run and finish the walk as soon as the participants can because this is a walk and not a marathon. He told this to the reporters, here Thursday. Although the registration is closed, Wong said that anyone is welcome to participate in the walk.
