KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 19 – 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) president and executive director Arul Kanda Kandasamy on Friday appeared before the the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) for the second time. Arul Kanda, however, did not stop his vehicle to speak to the media waiting outside the gates of Parliament House, where the hearing took place.
The proceedings began at about 9am and ended around noon. On Dec 1, Arul provided a statement to the PAC for the first time, and PAC chairman Datuk Hasan Arifin reportedly said the committee would meet Arul Kanda again on Friday to get a further explanation in respect to the 1MDB. Unlike before, the media was not allowed to cover the proceedings this time. The PAC is probing 1MDB over its dealings.
