BANGI, Dec 30 – The Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK) Tuesday began its ‘Ops Catut Back to School’ to check on the price of school items throughout the country. Director of KPDNKK’s Enforcement Division, Mohd Roslan Mahayuddin said the operations were aimed at ensuring traders did not take advantage of the situation by increasing prices of school items.
“The operations are conducted simultaneously throughout the country and will continue until the first day of school next year. Checks conducted on the first day detected several traders in some states who were suspected of increasing the price of school uniforms and other items. They have been issued notices and have to report at the KPDNKK office before Jan 1 next year to give a reason for the price increase of their goods,” he said.
