BAYAN LEPAS, Feb 2 – 5th Ban Ka Lan Snake Temple annual ‘Chneah Hoay’ (flame-watching) ceremony was happening at Snake Temple here this evening. The flame shows that the overall for the Penang State’s is average in the Year of the Fire Rooster.
The ritual began at 11.35pm on Thursday, the first flame was successfully ignited at 12.05am, followed by the second flame at 12.09am and the last flame at 12.15am on Friday. This year the first flame and second flame was around 5 to 6 inch and the third flame was 5 inch.
