PUTRAJAYA, February 10 – The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim made a warning for ministries and agencies to increase efficiency in the delivery of services directly involving the people. Without mentioning the name of the ministry or agency, Anwar said that every matter that takes a long time if not dealt with will cause anxiety among the people. If you have to line up for hours to get a license, for me it needs to be fixed he said during a meeting with members of the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) at Dewan De’ Seri Endon Puspanitapuri on Tuesday.
According to him, he often puts the situation on himself to understand the people’s situation. “I always take the example of what if I had to line up there. Or even if it is said in the study of the treasury, Khazanah, the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) about the declining poverty rate, extreme poverty, what do I say if my family is in that category?” asked Anwar. He said, by putting oneself in that situation, then the purpose of freeing people from all forms of slavery as contained in surah al-Balad can be achieved.
“In work, practice and office, we cannot escape from our sincerity to free the people from all forms of oppression, slavery. Fooling and impoverishing the people, taking the people’s property until their rights are removed,” he said. Anwar said that the calls he made with cabinet ministers after taking over the administration of the country were with good intentions. “There are people who say I shouldn’t keep talking about old things, but the country’s image, economy and popularity cannot be denied,” he said.
