ALOR SETAR, April 30 – The Federal Government allocated a high expenditure for Kedah compared to previous years. The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said, as much as RM1.6 billion has been allocated this year to develop Kedah. According to him, in addition to the allocation involved, other assistance includes several water supply projects in several districts that need assistance. This does not include some other measures such as aid to poor schools and aid to poor clinics in Kedah.
“Recently when I went to China, there was a proposal to increase investment in Kulim Hi Tech Park,” he said when speaking at the Madani Malaysia Aidilfitri Open Ceremony here on Saturday. Anwar said that his party gave assurances that full cooperation would be given to speed up the process. God willing with the cooperation of the state government and local authorities (PBT), it will be able to drive more meaningful growth in the state of Kedah. There are also some provisions of other applications that will be given consideration.
As I have mentioned before whether the government is a joint government in the Unity Government or not, the responsibility to protect the people will continue, he said. In the meantime, Anwar believes that Madani’s country will continue to excel if the government can manage the country well, in addition to rejecting the practice of corruption and abuse of power. “We will use all the power of the machinery to protect the welfare of the people and the harmony of all races,” he explained.
