KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 – Vietjet, one of Vietnam’s leading airlines, is set to further expand its global presence with the launch of its third direct flight into Indonesia, connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta. This new route, scheduled to commence on August 5, 2023, signifies another significant achievement for Vietjet as it aims to reach a wider audience in Southeast Asia. The airline will operate daily round-trip flights between Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) and Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK).
The flights will depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 09:35 local time, arriving in Jakarta at 12:30 local time. The return flight will depart Jakarta at 13:30 local time, arriving back in Ho Chi Minh City at 16:40 local time. Additionally, the introduction of this new route will provide passengers traveling between Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta with another daily flight option. By transiting in Ho Chi Minh City, passengers will benefit from increased flexibility and an alternative flight route to reach their destination.
Nguyen Thanh Son, Vice President of Vietjet, expressed the airline’s commitment to expanding its international network to support trade and tourism in Southeast Asia. “With our state-of-the-art aircraft fleet, modern amenities, and comprehensive service packages, Vietjet is ready to connect more destinations and make travel between Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta more convenient and affordable than ever before,” he said. Son also emphasized that the new route will facilitate business, cultural exchange, and tourism, further enhancing regional integration.
Vietjet currently operates two services to Indonesia, with three daily round-trip flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Bali, as well as one daily round-trip flight between Hanoi and Bali. With the addition of the Ho Chi Minh City – Jakarta route, Vietjet will offer three commercial flight routes from Vietnam to Indonesia starting in August. To celebrate the launch of the new service to Jakarta, Vietjet is offering super-deal promotions every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, featuring fares starting as low as RM0 (excluding taxes and surcharges).
The promotional tickets are available for booking on Vietjet’s official website (www.vietjetair.com) and the Vietjet Air app. The travel period for the promotions is from August 10, 2023, to March 31, 2024, excluding national holidays.
