KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 – Maxis, a leading telecommunications provider, has been chosen by Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn Bhd (BHPetrol) to be part of BHPetrol’s extensive digitalization initiative aimed at enhancing the customer experience at their retail stations. As part of the collaboration, Maxis will deploy its managed SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network) as the network infrastructure to power BHPetrol’s outdoor payment terminals at each petrol pump and Point of Sale systems at all retail stations across Peninsular Malaysia.
SD-WAN is a versatile networking technology that offers scalable, adaptable, and cost-effective connectivity solutions while incorporating robust security measures to ensure end-to-end communication protection. Maxis’ SD-WAN has already been successfully deployed at over 240 locations, and the full implementation at other stations is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Goh Seow Eng, Maxis’ Chief Executive Officer, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “This important partnership enables Maxis to offer our unique capabilities and experience in providing next-generation networking technologies.

The companies are also exploring future opportunities to implement Smart Retail technologies, such as shopping behavior analytics, proximity payment, and mobile wallet and biometric authentication solutions. To celebrate the collaboration, Maxis and BHPetrol are offering exclusive cash rebates to Maxis and Hotlink users until June 30, 2023. Users can easily download the rebates from the Maxis or Hotlink app and redeem them at participating BHPetrol stations.
