KUALA LUMPUR, August 11 – The larger allocation provided by the Unity Government to Kelantan is evidence that the state is not being neglected. In response to claims made by Bachok Member of Parliament, Mohd Syahir Sulaiman, during a debate program last night, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated that the allocation given to Kelantan is higher compared to when PAS and the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (Bersatu) were in the Federal Government.
“The allocation provided by the Unity Government is greater compared to when PAS and Bersatu were in the previous government. During their time in power, they were preoccupied with other matters, resulting in lower allocations to Kelantan compared to now. So, how can he (Syahir) claim neglect?” he said after delivering a keynote address at the Asia-Pacific Roundtable on Thursday.
