KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli has been tasked with addressing concerns regarding the Central Database Hub (Padu) registration at the upcoming Cabinet meeting. This decision comes in response to Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg’s expressed concerns about the Padu system, prompting the need for clarification. Anwar revealed that following his discussion with the Sarawak Premier, Rafizi was instructed to thoroughly examine the issue and provide an explanation to the Cabinet.
The directive to suspend Padu registration in Sarawak aims to facilitate further discussions between the state government and the Ministry of Economy to address any existing issues. Anwar made these remarks during a walkabout at the Mahkota Square Ramadan Bazaar, where he was joined by Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail. Additionally, Anwar addressed the recent request by the Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) for special financial assistance to civil servants and pensioners in conjunction with Aidilfitri, mentioning the recent approval of an RM2,000 incentive for civil servants.
