KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 – Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil highlights the potential role of the Madani community in bridging communication gaps at the grassroots level by disseminating government policies in local dialects. Recognizing the challenge of effectively conveying government messages through electronic media, Fahmi believes that leveraging the Madani community’s influence can ensure information reaches communities more comprehensively.

uring a press conference at the National Information Dissemination Centre (Nadi) in Hulu Selangor, Fahmi emphasized the importance of this initiative, which aims to enhance the accessibility and understanding of government policies among grassroots communities. Additionally, Fahmi addressed concerns about inadequate Internet coverage in the Kuala Kubu Baru area, announcing the establishment of complaint counters by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to address public grievances.

He affirmed that MCMC’s actions against defamation and fake news are guided by legal provisions and accountability to Parliament, underscoring the impartial nature of the regulatory body’s enforcement efforts. – BERNAMA
