PUTRAJAYA, June 18 – The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) held a briefing session on June 6, 2024, at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel to discuss the proposed New Communications Equipment Framework (NCEF). The event attracted around 170 participants, including government representatives, association members, certifying agencies, and industry players, aimed at clarifying the new framework’s operating model and addressing stakeholder inquiries.

The NCEF is designed to enhance the competitiveness of Malaysia’s communications and multimedia industry by aligning with international best practices and meeting modern market demands. The public consultation for the NCEF, which started on May 20 and will continue until June 21, 2024, invites views and comments from industry stakeholders, interested parties, and the general public. This initiative seeks to ensure that the new framework reflects the needs and benefits of all stakeholders, fostering a more robust and dynamic communications sector in Malaysia.
