KUALA LUMPUR, June 12 – Maxis has announced the expansion of its e-waste recycling campaign, now offering a free postal drop-off service for e-waste collection at 1,000 Pos Malaysia outlets across Peninsular Malaysia. This new option complements the existing on-premise collection services in Klang Valley, Johor Bahru, and Penang, significantly broadening the campaign’s reach. Since its launch in October 2023, the initiative has successfully diverted over 29 tonnes of e-waste from landfills.
In partnership with Electronic Recycling Through Heroes (ERTH), an authorized e-waste collection centre, Maxis aims to simplify e-waste recycling and promote eco-friendly habits among Malaysians. Patrick Er, Maxis Chief People & Transformation Officer, emphasized the company’s commitment to reducing the environmental impact of e-waste and fostering sustainable practices. Er stated, “We are proud of the progress made with ERTH and are dedicated to making e-waste recycling more accessible. By partnering with more organizations, we aim to expand our campaign and encourage a nationwide culture of responsible e-waste disposal, contributing to a greener circular economy.”
