BAGAN SERAI, June 17 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that school bus operators and companies who have not received subsidies following the implementation of targeted diesel subsidies can still appeal. The government will consider eligible applications to ensure that all deserving groups receive assistance. Anwar emphasized that subsidies are intended for those genuinely in need, not for large or profitable companies.

During the launch of the Kerian Integrated Green Industrial Park (KIGIP), Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, reiterated that school bus operators who misuse subsidies by hiking fares will face license revocation. He also addressed public concerns about rising prices of essential goods and services, stating that the government is monitoring the situation to ensure fairness and support for eligible recipients. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, and Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz were also present at the event.
