KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 – The Securities Industry Development Corporation (SIDC) has unveiled a new certification programme aimed at enhancing sustainable and responsible investment (SRI) skills among professionals in the capital market. Named CCMP-SRI (Certified Capital Market Professional in Sustainable and Responsible Investment), this initiative seeks to elevate competency standards to meet the growing demand in Malaysia’s evolving financial landscape.

Tengku Zarina Tengku Chik, CEO of SIDC, emphasized the program’s relevance in today’s market: “With an increasing focus on sustainable investments and a surge in SRI funds, there is a pressing need for skilled professionals capable of navigating and leading in this specialized area. The CCMP-SRI certification will equip participants with essential knowledge in sustainable development, ESG integration, and SRI products, aligning with global best practices.”

The certification programme, structured into two levels (CCMP-SRI1 and CCMP-SRI2), offers a comprehensive learning pathway combining eLearning modules, webinars/workshops, and collaborative sessions. Graduates will enhance their ability to incorporate sustainable investment principles into financial strategies, addressing broader societal and environmental impacts alongside financial performance. This initiative underscores SIDC’s commitment to fostering a skilled workforce that can drive Malaysia’s sustainability goals forward in the capital market arena.
