SUNGAI BAKAP, July 4 – The Mutiara Media Club (MUTIARA) has condemned the sexual harassment incident involving a female journalist from a local television network. The alleged perpetrator is reported to be a campaign worker for the Sungai Bakap by-election, and the incident occurred during a press conference with Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi after the Program Majlis Kasih Bersama Pemimpin in Sungai Kechil last night.
MUTIARA President Mohd Iskandar Othman expressed deep regret over the incident, emphasizing that such events should not occur, especially when media professionals are diligently performing their duties. He called for a transparent and fair police investigation to bring the perpetrator to justice and reminded all media personnel to ensure their safety as the by-election campaign draws to a close in less than 48 hours.
