PUTRAJAYA, July 12 — The Home Affairs Ministry will scrutinize the Public Accounts Committee’s (PAC) report on the inadequacies of its migrant worker management platform, Senator Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail announced today. He affirmed the ministry’s dedication to enhancing the management and welfare of foreign workers, emphasizing their openness to feedback and criticism.
“My officials will review the PAC chairman’s report thoroughly. As a ministry responsible for managing foreign workers, we will expedite the management process to safeguard their welfare and ensure they receive optimal services,” Saifuddin stated at a press conference. The PAC report highlighted that the Foreign Workers Centralised Management System (FWCMS) had been operational for over six years without a formal contract with its operator, Bestinet Sdn Bhd, uncovering issues such as unauthorized user access within the system.
