KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 — The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) will maintain its services uninterrupted despite the closure of police station gates after 10 pm, announced Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain. Assuring the public of continued accessibility to police services, Tan Sri Razarudin emphasized that citizens can still lodge complaints and reports as usual.
The directive to close station gates late at night comes amidst security concerns highlighted by recent incidents, including an attack on the Ulu Tiram police station in Johor. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail underscored the importance of safeguarding both the public’s access to police services and the security of officers on duty. The implementation initially targets police stations in remote or rural areas, with further details expected to be finalized following consultations with the Bukit Aman Management Department director, Datuk Seri Azmi Kassim.
