IPOH, July 21 — Perak has established a total of 29 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations throughout the state, as confirmed by the Science, Environment and Green Technology Committee chairman Teh Kok Lim today. The state government, in collaboration with local councils, is dedicated to supporting and facilitating the installation of these stations to promote the use of EVs.

Teh emphasized that the installation guidelines adhere to standards set by the Energy Commission and the Ministry of Development and Local Government. He also mentioned that the state government will continue refining incentives to encourage EV adoption among residents. This initiative aligns with the national goal of having 10,000 EV charging stations by 2025, as reiterated by Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz, who noted the recent growth from 1,400 to over 2,000 stations nationwide by February.
