KUALA LUMPUR, July 19 — Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has unveiled the Pakej Rahmah Prabayar Siswa, a new affordable connectivity package tailored for students entering public institutions of higher learning (IPTA) and public skills training institutes (ILKA). The plan promises a minimum of 30GB of data with a 180-day validity, priced at no more than RM30. The package will be available starting August 16, 2024, through telcos like CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile, TM (Unifi Mobile), and Yes 5G.
The initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to offer special packages catering to different segments, including Pakej Perpaduan and Pakej 5G Rahmah. This new plan aims to enhance affordability and accessibility for students, complementing existing options such as Yes 5G’s 50GB data for RM20/month and Hotlink Prepaid Pantas 5G’s 20GB high-speed data plus 20GB Bonus 5G data for RM25/month.
