GEORGE TOWN, July 23 – IJM Land Berhad (“IJM Land”), the developer behind THE LIGHT, has announced a temporary lane closure and traffic diversion on the George Town-bound route of Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway on 31st July 2024. This closure is necessary to facilitate the construction of THE LIGHT Interchange, including new elevated ramps connecting to THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang and the widening of the expressway.
These improvements aim to enhance traffic capacity and road network connectivity in the area. To minimize disruption, IJM Land will implement a comprehensive traffic management plan throughout the construction period. Temporary traffic diversions and road closures will be scheduled during off-peak hours, specifically from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am. IJM Land seeks the understanding and patience of the public as these essential works are carried out to ensure safe and efficient implementation.
