KUALA LUMPUR, August 28 — Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil dismissed the notion that poor network coverage inside the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Center (WTCKL) is the fault of his ministry, following a humorous remark from Umno Youth suggesting he be replaced. Fahmi emphasized that the problem lies in the building’s infrastructure rather than ministerial oversight and suggested a meeting with WTCKL director Datuk Seri Irmohizam Ibrahim to address the issue.

Fahmi also highlighted Malaysia’s success in exceeding its 5G coverage target, with nearly 84% of mobile users now utilizing the network. His comments were in response to a light-hearted proposal by Umno Youth Chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh during the Umno General Assembly, where delegates had complained about difficulties using social media at the venue.
