KUALA LUMPUR, August 27 — Former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is expected to be charged with sedition today in Gua Musang over his controversial remarks on race, religion, and royalty (3R) during the recent Nenggiri by-election campaign. The charge follows accusations that Muhyiddin insulted the previous Yang di-Pertuan Agong, leading to 28 police reports being lodged against him.

Kelantan Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chief Datuk Kamaruddin Md Noor confirmed the upcoming charge, which will be under the Sedition Act 1987. The remarks in question were made during a TikTok video where Muhyiddin claimed to have the support of 115 MPs to form a government after the 15th general election but was allegedly bypassed in favor of the current Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
