KUALA LUMPUR, August 27 — High-powered sewer jetters from Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) were deployed today in the ongoing search and rescue operation for an Indian tourist who disappeared into a sinkhole on Jalan Masjid India last Friday. The jetters were used to break through rock debris approximately four meters deep near Wisma Yakin, with efforts continuing into the night to determine if any foreign objects are trapped in the debris.

As the search enters its fourth day, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has been instructed to collaborate closely with geologists and infrastructure experts to assess and mitigate sinkhole risks. Federal Territories Minister Dr. Zaliha Mustafa is coordinating with KL Mayor Datuk Seri Dr. Maimunah Mohd Sharif and the Indian High Commissioner on the situation, while the victim’s family has had their visas extended by the Immigration Department.
