KUALA LUMPUR, September 2 – Despite challenges, 75% of Malaysians maintain a positive outlook on their long-term financial well-being, according to recent research by Principal Financial Group®. However, the study also reveals a decline in perceived financial inclusion, with only 69% of Malaysians feeling financially included, down from 78% last year. This trend mirrors global patterns, with a decrease in financial inclusion observed in 39 out of 41 surveyed markets.

The research highlights that Malaysian employers are seen as the most supportive in driving financial inclusion, with over 70% of respondents acknowledging their role, followed by the financial system (69%) and the government (68%). Despite overall satisfaction with access to financial education and retirement planning, the findings indicate that certain segments of the population still feel underserved, pointing to the need for continued efforts to enhance financial inclusivity.
