NIBONG TEBAL, August 29 – Over 7,000 households in Nibong Tebal will face a 12-hour water supply disruption starting at 10pm today, as the Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) temporarily closes the 600mm main pipe in Sungai Kerian. This disruption, affecting 7,238 user accounts, is necessary to facilitate the diversion of the main pipe for ongoing bridge upgrades across Sungai Kerian and the construction of a flyover by the public works department.
PBAPP has advised residents in the affected areas, including Jalan Besar Datuk Keramat, Jalan Permatang Keling, and several surrounding locations, to store sufficient water ahead of the disruption. The water supply is expected to resume by Friday as the necessary infrastructure works are completed.
