KUALA LUMPUR, September 2 – In celebration of its 15th anniversary, the Green Building Index (GBI), Malaysia’s leading green rating tool for buildings and townships, is offering a 20% discount on registration fees for new project applications starting from 1 September 2024. This initiative is aimed at encouraging more sustainable building practices by incentivizing project owners who appoint members of the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) or the Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM) for their consultancy services.
GBI Chairman, Adjunct Prof. Ar. Adrianta Aziz, emphasized that this discount reflects GBI’s ongoing commitment to promoting a sustainable built environment in Malaysia. Since its launch in 2009, GBI has certified 702 buildings, covering 316.4 million square feet of gross floor area, and has significantly contributed to reducing the country’s greenhouse gas emissions. With over 1,200 buildings already certified or registered, GBI continues to lead as Malaysia’s premier green building certification body.
