SELANGOR, September 10 — Sophea Fertility Centre has officially launched its second location in Bangi, Selangor, furthering its commitment to providing inclusive fertility care tailored to women and Muslim communities. The centre, a brand under Sunfert International, integrates advanced fertility technologies with a patient-centric approach, offering services such as in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) and genetic testing within a framework that respects Islamic values. The launch was attended by a high-level New Zealand delegation, including Ministers Melissa Lee and Nicola Grigg, highlighting the collaboration with Fertility Associates, New Zealand’s leading fertility provider, in bringing cutting-edge fertility care to Malaysia.

The partnership with Fertility Associates, supported by a consortium that includes the New Zealand Super Fund, has enabled Sophea to enhance its services significantly. Since its opening, Sophea has treated nearly 200 IVF patients, resulting in close to 100 pregnancies, marking a strong start for the centre. Minister Melissa Lee praised Fertility Associates for its successful export of innovative healthcare technology to Malaysia, while Minister Nicola Grigg noted the positive impact of expanded access to fertility treatments. The centre also extends its services to non-Muslim couples who prefer treatment from an all-female clinical team, making it a unique and inclusive option in the region.
