GEORGE TOWN, September 28 – The office of YB Lim Hui Ying, Deputy Finance Minister and MP for Tanjong, has donated RM10,000 to the families of two victims who lost their lives in a fallen tree incident on September 18. The donation, RM5,000 per family, is intended as a gesture of condolence and support for the grieving families of Liu Zhu and his daughter Liu Xinxin, both Chinese nationals, who were tragically killed when a tree fell on their parked car near the Pinang Peranakan Mansion.

Represented by KOMTAR assemblyman Teh Lai Heng due to Lim’s overseas duties, the donation was handed over, along with condolences, to Liu Zhu’s son, Liu Yu Hui, and Liu Xinxin’s husband, Wang Geng Feng. Lim has since urged the Penang City Council (MBPP) to enhance the safety monitoring of trees in Tanjong to prevent similar incidents in the future.
