KUALA LUMPUR, October 16 – The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) reinforced its commitment to green investments at the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM) 2024, with the exchange of seven Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).
The collaborations, including five involving Solarvest Group, represent over RM1 billion in investments, aimed at advancing Malaysia’s renewable energy sector. This marks a pivotal step in the nation’s Green Investment Strategy (GIS), which seeks to attract RM300 billion in green investments by 2030. MIDA also announced four green projects, amounting to RM1.8 billion, approved between January and June 2024.
Notable investments include Chery Corporate Malaysia’s RM1.4 billion energy-efficient vehicle (EEV) plant, and large-scale solar photovoltaic projects by Asiabina Solar, NEDA Pekan, and Sand Town Solar. These initiatives underscore MIDA’s role in promoting sustainable development and driving Malaysia’s transition toward a greener future.
