KUALA LUMPUR, October 19 – The popular My50 monthly pass, widely used by Malaysians in the Klang Valley for accessing public transport services, will continue into 2025. During the Budget 2025 presentation, Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the subsidy for the My50 pass will be extended, benefiting over 180,000 public transport users in the region. The My50 pass allows residents to use their identification cards to access various public transport options, including RapidKL buses, KTM trains, LRT, MRT, and Monorail services.

To support the ongoing development of public transport services, over RM270 million has been allocated for the continued enhancement of bus services throughout major cities in all states. In addition, RM10 million will be invested to improve accessibility in the Klang Valley, focusing on adding dedicated bus lanes along Jalan Ipoh, Jalan Cheras, and Jalan Gombak, covering a total of 47 kilometers.

The initiative will also see the upgrade of 100 bus stops in the Klang Valley, through collaboration with government-linked companies (GLCs) and private entities, aimed at improving safety and comfort for public bus users. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to enhance public transportation infrastructure and ensure greater accessibility for all citizens.
