BUKIT MERTAJAM, March 7 – PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the party was leaving it to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng to resolve the issue of five of its state assemblymen who did not vote on a sea reclamation issue. Mohamed Azmin said he did not see it as a big issue which would jeopardise unity in Pakatan Harapan.
“This matter is not a clash of policies or a quarrel which could break up Pakatan Harapan. Hopefully, there is the spirit of consensus so that the matter is given attention,” he told reporters when attending the Machang Bubuk state constituency’s Chinese New Year open house, here, Sunday.
Prior to this, Lim had expressed his surprise over the open statement made by Mohamed Azmin on the sacking of two of five PKR assemblymen as directors of state government-linked companies. Bukit Tengah assemblyman Ong Chin Wen and Kebun Bunga assemblyman Cheah Kah Peng were sacked after they exempted from voting on the issue of land reclamation raised by Barisan Nasional during the Penang State Assembly sitting.
