KUCHING, October 14 — AmGroup Foundation has provided prescription spectacles to 44 underprivileged students at SK St. Mary in Kuching as part of efforts to improve access to eye care.

The initiative, conducted with Eyesight Optic, provided complimentary eye screenings and vision assessments before students requiring corrective eyewear received new spectacles.

AmBank Group said untreated vision problems could affect students’ classroom participation, academic performance and confidence, particularly when families face financial barriers to treatment.

The programme forms part of AmGroup Foundation’s wider community initiatives focused on education, health and social inclusion for underserved Malaysians.
