GEORGE TOWN, October 13 — Motorists traveling along Jalan Magazine will face a long-term all-day lane closure from Oct 14 until Feb 21, 2027, to facilitate construction of Penang’s Mutiara Line LRT project.
The round-the-clock closure begins at 10am on Oct 14, affecting the exit slip road from Lebuh McNair near 1st Avenue Mall towards Jalan Magazine and Hotel Jen, heading towards Komtar.
The closure will allow contractors to carry out road widening and utility relocation works under the project’s CMC1 construction package.
Other lanes will remain open, with traffic personnel, safety barriers and directional signs deployed to assist motorists throughout the construction period.
