GEORGE TOWN, Feb 19 – Several city roads will be closed to traffic in stages on Feb 25 for the second phase of 2016 Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL). Penang Traffic Police chief Supt Roslan Ali said the road closures from 10.30 am will be from Jalan Pengkalan Weld to the city centre and Jalan Kelawei-Gurney traffic lights up to Tanjung Tokong junction.
He said that the traffic closures will be enforced until the race ends at Padang Kota at about 12.45pm. He told this at a press conference, here Thursday. A total of 31 police officers and 995 personnel will be assigned to control traffic during the period. The race route in Penang covers a distance of 100.5 kilometres in five districts.
