PUTRAJAYA, June 23 — Erwin Khairul Ahmad has been appointed as the 20th Director-General of the Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia, effective today.
The 50-year-old communications professional began his public service career as an Information Officer in 2001 and has held several senior positions within JAPEN and the Communications Ministry.
A graduate of Universiti Teknologi MARA, Erwin is recognised for his expertise in issue management, psychological operations and cyber media communications.
Officials said his appointment is expected to strengthen JAPEN’s role as the government’s lead communications agency.
