BUKIT MERTAJAM, October 13 — Penang Marine Police arrested two foreign men and seized untaxed cigarettes and alcoholic beverages worth RM727,351 during a raid on an unnumbered premises.
In Kubang Semang on Oct 9. The operation uncovered 7,860.64 litres of alcohol and 180,000 cigarettes, with the seizure value including taxes.
Both suspects were remanded for 10 days until Oct 19 under Section 135(1)(d) of the Customs Act 1967. Marine Police Region One said it had recorded 2,042 cases.
Involving seizures worth RM174.6 million so far in 2026.
