KUALA LUMPUR, October 13 — Boarding school students are advised to remain in their hostels during haze-related school closures, provided conditions are safe and their welfare is protected.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the measure aims to prevent parents from having to repeatedly collect and return their children during temporary school closures.
Fadhlina said closure announcements should be made as early as possible, although decisions depend on changing Air Pollutant Index readings across different locations.
The Education Ministry will continue monitoring conditions while addressing learning disruptions and improving communication with parents through state and district education offices.
